ROW 80 update

I know I’ve been absent. Finals are almost over. Thank God. I’ll be able to catch up and write more after today. Friday is my last final for this week and  then only two left. In the meanwhile I study and practice, I’ll  be able to write. I’ve thought of some new ideas to write down and incorporate it in the story.

I have some comments to get too and I promise I will. Just a quick post before I leave again.

I’ll be back in action. Glad the others are keeping up with their goals!

I have a feeling that I’ll be missing the next few check ins =( I literally have finals around the corner so work on Black Ophelia will be less and less. Until, that is, I finish finals. Then I can kick it back up again.

Seriously, I don’t have that much to post. So, so sad. I’ll keep trying to meet my goals.

Silent spring

I need to write this quickly since I have a bus to catch. I haven’t written as much as I would like too. With school winding down, I have a lot to catch up on. I’m writing here and there with 350-400 in between my 10 minute intervals between classes.

I need to find new music to think of scenes. Like I said before, I have no outline so this is purely going off the top of my head. Well, that’s a mini line because this is a revamp of a story i had used for NANO but I’m switching everything around.

If I keep missing these check-ins, I’ll never see progress haha

Catch the butterfly

Ok so I’ve been hitting way below my mark lately. Max words I’ve been turning out is 350-400. That’s ok because at least I’m writing. That’s what matters. Not only that but I’ve also been working on back stories as I keep writing. So it fulfills another goal. Words, I’ve been looking ( i have a moleskin full) and plan on inserting them here and there.

Not too much to update with. I’m catching up with school work so that’s my main priority. However, the story is progressing nicely. I’m pleased. Now it’s getting to the place I want it to go that’s my challenge for right now. The main reason being that I’ve got a long way to go.

Step right up, you’re the next contestant

Admittingly ( I cannot believe that’s not a real word according to my spell check),  this section was harder than I thought it would be. After last night, I lost all my ideas and will to write. Since I set such a high goal for myself, I like to at least be close to hit it. The three hundred words or so were all I could think of.

So, during my break (which is right now) I pushed through the sluggish block and manage to make my goal for today! I finished the third scene and am on to my fourth. I’m nearing the middle of the fourth scene. I’m noticing my scenes don’t go for very long so I have to be careful about that. I don’t want them to drag on forever either.

But for right now, I’m glad I was able to break through my laziness. I’m pretty sure that’s what it was. Or I didn’t think far ahead enough (is that even correct?) to plot. I have yet to write an outline for this so everything coming out of thin air. I keep writing and the ideas keep going. I dunno, I’m strange like that.

ANYWAY, progress report for the day.

Once you start me up, I never stop

Ironically, my entry is about the exact opposite.

I think poetry class took it out of me. The idea i had last night completely jumped the ship. It was a very personal and tough class. Sigh. I tried to think of the scene I had in my head but its gone. So, now, I have to think of a new direction for this scene.

A bit disappointed that I didn’t get that much. My head isn’t in it right now so I rather take a break than write something utterly crappy. Instead, I think I’ll do some back stories and plotting schemes. I have character names, their full names in the works. From the cast, I have all their names. Now I need to work on where i want to go and the themes.

So far these are my themes:

-Insanity

-Betrayal

-Secrets

-Royalty

-Race

-Relationships

-Revolution

and some other that I’m not thinking of but will probably write down later. Looking at the list now, it all sounds so cliche, but I promise it’s not. I try to make my stories as original as possible. But then, who can claim an idea original? It’s a saying I read somewhere, which has some truth. Or maybe I saw it in Inception….either way, it bares some truth here. ANYWAY, those are my themes. I hope to have more written this coming weekend. I want to hit 3k by Sunday night. We’ll see if that actually happens!

California dreaming

Instead of editing my old post, I decided to make a new one.

I’m writing the beginning of the third scene. I’m almost near the 10 page mark which makes me happy. It’s been a while since I’ve been there. This writing every day has been very helpful in getting me into practice. Even if my wording isn’t all that great.

New characters are introduced and the plot thickens! dun dun dun.

Satellite

You know how music inspires you to write? that’s where I am. The more songs I listen too, the more my mind focuses on writing the story at hand.

I wrote on my way to school, which gives me a good 45 minutes to an hour or so. Instead of doing my French homework (lololol let’s hope that it doesn’t effect my grade).  I’ll probably write more when I get home since I only made it to one class today. Then another hour back home and hopefully I can get this scene done.

More characters are getting introduced. Though I don’t think I can get to all of them today since I have to finish Lady Audley’s Secret for my Victorian lit class.

Better together

I’m working more on this scene that I’ve been writing for about three days now, on and off. Any chance I get, I try to continue but it seems to only be in short stints.

I should be finishing this scene by tonight, granted that I don’t get distracted.  That’d be nice.  I think I should buy a binder for this story like I do with my main story. Black Ophelia is just a side story I started when I participated with Nanowrimo one year. Ever since, I’ve been with it. Only this time, it got revamped after hearing an incredible song (As the rush comes by Motorcycle Gabriel & Desdan mix)  and now I’m working with a completely different setting than the first.

It’s a bit overwhelming and exciting. I lik to be kept busy. Keep my laziness in check.

Anyway, I’m 2,208 words in and about two scenes through. I’m about to move onto my third!

I’m alive

Reviving this blog for Round of Words in 80 days. The entire story is getting a revamp so I thought this would be a good way to get it underway. Juggling school and other stuff, I’ll try my best to keep up with my goal to write a scene a day. We’ll see how that goes.

If not (since I do have a school work load too)

Main Goal: Write every day (700-1000 words a day)

Side goal #1: work on back stories

Side goal #2: figure out motive for plot

Side goal #3: find interesting words to use

 

By the end, I’d like to have at least a few chapters done. maybe 3 or so.
